sunn O)))

i've always been curious about the band sunn O))). in the past, it's been difficult for me to listen to their albums. however, i was always attracted to their mystique and imagery. i finally had a chance to see them live last night. while i still might not 100% "get it", i did walk away with a better understanding. their whole thing is open to interpretation. not to sound cliche', but it is the closest thing to "art" as i have ever seen from a band. yes, they are playing traditional instruments plugged in to amps, but that is really the only reference point i can give you. their live set completely engulfs you physically and emotionally.
