picked this one up today. started up first try. yeah right.

some people shouldn't be allowed to spray paint things. getting to that beautiful orange is going to be fun.

the ghost of *guided by voices*

do you ever feel like your i-pod is possessed? over the weekend tim and i drove to wheeling west virginia to meet Jersey Drew and friends. as we were approaching dayton, guided by voices' hometown, my i-pod was on shuffle and started to play GBV every other song. sometimes two songs in a row. weird. we camped out at the park, got rained on, but not rained out.

richmond park grafitti.
something in the water i guess.

monotonix for my birthday

we saw one of the craziest bands play last night at the melody inn. their called Monotonix. the photos pretty much sum it up. a great show to see for my birthday evening. the only bummer for my birthday was finding out that NBA commissioner/party pooper David Stern shares the same birthday as me. thanks to nate and kris for bringing that to my attention.

danny lyon-photographer

i'm sure most of us midwesterners have been over this bridge. it's the one that goes over the ohio river and into louisville. Danny Lyon took this photo long before i was born. it was in a book he published called "the Bikeriders". it's a pictorial time capsule of midwest motorcycling in the 60's.
*in other motorcycle news, i got my 550 back up and running. rebuilt the upper half of the engine. rick helped me bolt it in and matt set the valve tappets. just in time for those fall rides.

okie noodling

i took a chance on netflix and ordered a documentry called Okie Noodling. i'm not really into fishing, but these noodlers are crazy! they swim around creeks and lakes catching up to 50 pound catfish with their bare hands. in fact, their hands are the bait. noodling can be risky . people have gotten their hands cut, been attacked by beavers, and even drowned.

barn ramps

my barn ramp in 1997 on cox road. the same ramp i blew out my knee on. the ramp is long gone and this part of the barn is about to collapse. coincidently, the coping i'm grinding is now on another barn ramp in fortville.

sept. 2002

these were in a box of slides labeled "sept. 2002". outtakes from a consolidated trip that was in big brother.
