like i really need another one...

maggie, sarah, and i hit some garage sales this morning. most of them were a bust, but the last one we went to had this bike for sale. i did a double take, took about 2 seconds to think about it, and told them i would be back with cash and a truck. paid $200 and got the title. 78 honda 750K. thanks for the lift tyson. i'll get a battery and some gas and see what happens...

73?

i was at the crosswalk by 52nd and college today. dude pulls up on an old honda 350 twin. as i'm walking across i look at it and ask him, "73?". he says "yes". that was the extent of our exchange. i don't know if he was stoked that i guessed the correct year, but i love it when people do that me. grinning to myself, i realized all those hours drooling over motorcycle sites on the internet are finally paying off for something...

trip to hermann's hole: an epic blog posting

i spent the weekend at hermann's hole. it's d.i.y. concrete bowl about an hour west of st. louis. this guy j.p. owns it. they were having a 1 year birthday bash, so a bunch of us rolled out...

a few things we saw on the 5 hour drive.

we rolled up right before dark. it had rained a bunch the previous day and part of the bridge washed away. there was only one way to hermann's hole. so we had to cross the river "oregon trail" style.

toilet make out of tires.

gorilla with his turtle.

i got my "brody license" and drove this thing to town. pulled up to the gas station and the lady working observantly said, "you know yer missing two doors?"

thanks to ryan for getting the trip and crew together. it was a blast...

reunions...

split lip/chamberlain played a reunion show over the weekend. they sounded and looked good considering how long it's been. they even played some songs off the 7" and operation ivy's "unity". now if we could just get a blatherskite reunion show...
